Objective: Ahem. Let me pause the traditional, dry resumé format right here.
Let’s talk about your objective. You want to know if I can deliver the goods. You want well researched, clean copy that’s a great read. And you want it on time.
You’re not going to learn if I can do that by reading a typical resumé. (But if that’s what you really want, it’s way at the bottom.)
Here’s what one editor I often work with has to say about my ability to deliver:
“Sue was exceptionally responsive from the start, and she continued that high level of touch throughout her assignments. She’s a great communicator and brings enthusiasm to her work. I strongly recommend Sue, and I’d certainly work with her again.”
– Michael Bates, Publisher, NGT News
Since 2009 I’ve been a freelance writer for regional and national publications. I focus on health, technology and education topics, with forays into urban chicken keeping (a passion of mine). You can read samples of my writing on my clips page.
I have a certification in content marketing from Copyblogger Media and a long list of happy clients.
From 2007 until 2015, I was a business systems analyst. And for the three years before that, I was a job recruiter. Writing has always been a part of who I am and what I do. My background has given me a level of professionalism that’s tough to match.
My experience as a government job recruiter gave me plenty of practice in explaining complex policies, processes and laws in clear and concise language. My work as a business systems analyst speaks to my technological savvy and my ability to thoroughly research and analyze topics — and understand how to trace the ripple effects of any issue.
As an experienced blogger (I started my first blog in 2002!) and social media addict, I am perfectly poised to help your company’s clients make meaningful connections with the target audience.
I deliver a quality product, on time. And I’m always there when you need me.
And here’s that traditional resume format, in case you want to give it the once over.
